Portrait of Rebecca and Doug’s beautiful Australian Shepherd, Pearl. The painting was based on a photo I took at Franklin Park, San Francisco, near my studio. Pearl was a real trooper: very patient, spirited and enthusiastic. I wanted to capture Pearl’s warm personality and amazingly expressive eyes. Rebecca is one of my neighbors in the 1890 Bryant building – she creates magnificent jewelry (see her web site).
