This was created one sunny afternoon in Sonoma at a friend’s home. David was visiting and we were all sitting down at a table. As he leaned on one hand in conversation with someone else I started sketching him on my iPad Pro, initially undetected! When he realized he was now the subject of a portrait he kindly held his position, including his hands, while I sketched away. The portrait sketch took about 30 minutes.
