This painting was created live in the beautiful Transamerica Pyramid 27th Floor Sky Lounge at the Red Curtain Addict’s “The Art of Jazz” event featuring Marcus Shelby and his Harlem of the West Players, plus poetry by Enid Pickett. See Red Curtain Addict’s Instagram post.
The performers were:
Marcus Shelby (bass) – marcusshelby.com
Christopher Lowell Clarke (trumpet)
Dana Salzman (piano)
Jimmy Gallagher (drums)
Ash Stallard (vocalist)
Enid Pickett (poet) – enidpickett.com
I used an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and the Procreate app. The iPad screen was projected on a large flat panel display so guests could enjoy watching the painting evolve and develop.
