AT&T One Powell

This was created live on September 29th, 2016, at the Grand Opening of AT&T’s new flagship store in San Francisco, the largest of it’s flagship stores in the world. This one is located at One Powell, San Francisco, next to the cable car turnaround where Powell meets Market, opposite the Westfield Centre. Please enjoy the video below that includes a replay of the entire painting process, compressing a creative journey that took around six hours into a minute.

The background that I start working on is actually a surface texture of the historic interior at One Powell. The whole painting was created en plain air from direct observation. Using the app Procreate, I sketched out the initial composition with the 6B Pencil, and then used variety of Sketching, Inking and Painting tools for the rest. I made a 53 inch wide by 30 inch high canvas pigment print of the final artwork for AT&T to hang in their facility.
